Gotu kola (Centella asiatica) is a perennial herb that grows abundantly in many parts of the world, including India, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Australia, China, Indonesia, and Japan. It has been used in traditional medicinal Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine systems for centuries.
